We wanted to make a bunch more pages for different types of equipment, but until we do, this page fills in all those extra pieces equipment we still think are very valuable.

We have two different options for weighted vests.  The cost is similar and I have used both, however sometimes it is just person preference.  I think the MDUSA fits a bit more snug and it fits all sizes up to a 50 inch chest.  However, I have used the MiR weighted vest and it works well too.  So check out both and make you choice!

It’s hard to lift heavy weight if your hands keep slipping.  It is also hard to lift heavy weights or give a firm handshake if you have a weak grip.  I have bought the chalk pictured to the left three years ago and I still have plenty of it left, and it helps a lot when I’m dripping with sweat.

In the picture to the left, you can see three different pieces of strength training equipment.  The first one is the power tower, which is a great deal and has a pull-up bar, dip handles, and leg raise area.  This is a great multi-purpose set up for those of you looking to outfit your own gym.  The next option is the high quality door frame pull up bar.  We looked around at different big retailers and online stores, but found this one to be far superior at the same cost.  It can’t be beat.  Finally, the steel constructed made in the U.S.A. pull up bar.  There are options for one, or a bunch of them in a row.  If you’re setting up a garage gym with a few people or a crossfit style gym, this is where it is at.

Glute Ham Developers, or GHD’s for short.  These are worth every penny in my book.  Both as a glute ham developer and as a way to develop abdominal strength.

We have have three different options.  The first two are high quality MDUSA (top) and York (bottom) and a third not pictured option.  The MDUSA one is welded completely together, which means you could throw it down a flight of stairs as a faster means of transport and it would be fine.  The York comes with a few more adjustments and is still a fantastic option.  The editor’s of this website recommend either options for serious weightlifters or for people who are looking for gym/commericial quality pieces of equipment.

I love training with med ball, slam balls, and everything in between.  Whether I am using them for explosive training or abdominal training, they are endlessly useful as every single professional athlete and trainer uses them.

Strength Training Equipment

What is the point of using all sorts of strength training equipment?  The reason to own a ton of different strength training equipment is so that you can build a well-rounded body that has no weaknesses.  A lot of time people have over-developed quads and using a glute ham developer can balance these muscles out and prevent injury.  This is important to a lot of athletes that have knee injuries like ACL / MCL tears.  A weighted vest can make everything a lot harder, you can wear it while you do body weight exercises like push ups, pull ups, and so forth.  When you can do every single exercise just as well with a weighted vest, imagine what will happen when you take it off?

The Point of Strength Training Equipment

The point is that a variety of strength training equipment can help you in many different ways.  While the basics should be covered first like a good quality barbell, some bumper plates, dumbbells and a pull up bar, soon you will need more.  As you slowly build up all the tools needed to build a powerful physique, the only thing that needs to be done is using all of them consistently.  After using all your strength training equipment consistently, you will be one of the strongest people in your area, without a doubt.
